Conceived during a trip through the Japanese countryside, where rural homes are protected by charred wooden baseboards, this piece uses morali, wooden beams like the ones used to reinforce buildings at construction sites. The reclaimed wood is burnt by a bonfire, lending a unique shape to each lamp. The light casts a pyramidal form on the wall and floor. Dedicated to my father, who spent his entire life at construction sites, raising beams and his teams’ morale.
