“It is in the instant when the gesture offers itself to the other that the project is fulfilled and, at the same time, fades away.”
It is within the exhibition dimension that the artistic process reaches its peak and comes to light, coinciding precisely with the moment in which it must be let go. At the point of sharing, the author ceases to be the sole master of that feeling: intimate thought strips away its solitude and transforms into a collective experience. From the galleries of New York to lectio magistrales held at academies, Emanuel Gargano measures his conceptual research by constantly bringing it into contact with the gaze, listening, and sensitivity of the other.
This moment of public rendering represents perhaps the most complex phase of the entire journey, where the work requires not only to be shown, but to be verbalized and narrated. Translating the genesis of an idea into words or spatial devices means giving shape to the invisible matter of thought, accepting that every encounter or installation is a point of passage. In dialogue with students, curators, or the public, the work transcends the hand of the one who generated it, turning the end of the creative process into the beginning of its shared memory.
