A stone bench seeks to restore the totemic value of a volume-object around which human relationships and commercial activities have flourished. The seat is crafted from two pieces of the same stone block, hollowed out and assembled to recreate the natural veining and reduce its weight. The shape of the upper part was created by applying a random "noise" directly to the 3D model, which was then used by a 5-axis machine as a reference to rough out the pieces. The monolith is hand-finished by honing the sides and polishing the upper surface.
